|Possibly nearly hijacked!!
Yes, fun n games!! Picked up my sister to go out, got to cnr Beyers Naude & Judith rd (notorious as one of the worst intersections for crime in South Africa).. I was driving with my window open *slaps self*...as I stopped at the robot some guy appeared out of nowhere, posing as if begging for a smoke. Immediately I knew what was happening and slammed my accelerator.. as I did so he dived into the window and grabbed my arm, pulling it away from the steering wheel - I got a bit of a shock and slipped the clutch as I pulled my arm away, then he dived for my cellphone as I accelerated again! Thankfully I was a lil stronger than him and managed to get a firm grip on it as I drove off!!!
Speaking of the cellphone...yes.. I finally have a decent phone! Nokia E90 Communicator :D Had to swap a full desktop PC for it, so it effectively cost me around R4500. Haha I keep swapping computers :p Got enough parts - only missing a DVDRW, for another decent computer to build :) So yeah now i got my 2 laptops and 2 desktops...plus this awesome phone! :D Wow I've swapped 4 desktop computers for other items this year already o.O
Could only LOL, went thru later with my sister and another friend to a house party, where the beautiful girl I'm dating was :) One of my friends explains that he got me a rather impractical, but thoughtful christmas present. In front of everyone, he walks out with this huge husky plushie! lol! So all in all, it was a pretty interesting nite :p Only thing worrying me is the scratch the thief left me on my upper arm, though I guess without transferring blood I'm not gonna get aids or anything o.O Current Mood: shocked

|It's snowing! no, seriously...
Yesterday was your average 16 degree or so South African winter day, until about 7pm when without warning the wind picked up hectically and the temp dropped insanely.. not expecting anything, I went to bed at about 2am as per normal with the heater on, still only about 13 degrees in my room without the heater. Got one of the most surprising wake-up calls in the morning... 'twas my mom, explaining that if I get my ass out of bed (she knows how late I sleep in =P ) I might see something interesting outside - it was snowing! First time we've had snow like this since 1982 or so! So yeah, first time in my lifetime :D
First time in my life I've been able to pick up a massive clump of snow and make a snowball...wow, didn't realize how hard you could make snowballs! In the movies they look a lot softer =P Got tonz of pics of white houses and cars covered completely in snow.. plus vids of all kinds of snowy stuff.. was awesome! Despite the fact that I'm busy freezing my ass off in below zero temperatures, I hope the snow continues!
Damn the weather has been sooo messed up here.. the other week on Sunday I spent the whole day walking around in a tshirt.. got to bed late after drinking with friends and spent each hour in bed waking up to add clothing or an extra blanket. At 10am I walked outside for a smoke and froze half to death - it was 4 degrees, despite being a perfectly sunny day! The day before it must have been around 20 to 25 degrees celsius - what a crazy drop! By Wednesday it dropped to -8 degrees, and saw quite a death toll in the rural areas. Current Mood: ecstatic

This is a journal entry I wrote ages ago and never submitted...oh well, here goes..
Early in December i had a bit of an accident...was climbing over a wall at a friend's place when it decided to collapse O.o. That was pretty fun, landed out cold and in hospital with a cracked skull & bleeding on the brain.. did make a speedy recovery though. Was originally told I'd be in hospital or at least in bed till around 15 January and may need a neck brace to drive for a while after that, but I was out and about before Christmas with nothing but the odd pain in my neck & slight lack of balance :) Must be my wolverine healing powers coming into place.. not the first time =P
Most people who know me know that I wear a silver wishbone around my neck, which I've worn 24/7 throughout my life. My father used to wear it when he was young, even before he met my mother. Anywayz, it got stolen not too long ago at a bachelor's party..damn thieving bastards! Dunno how it happened or who would do it, but started with my drink being spiked. Aaanywayz, couple of hundred bucks later and I got a jeweller to re-make it. Again (real) silver, slightly larger, but thinner...I'll survive...
Damn hard drive crashes...I seem to have great luck with them. Once again, 2 hard drives crashed within a few days, and my backup DVD will only read half the disc! Lost a heck of a lot of stuff, including my entire deviantART collection :( Had nearly 50,000 pics from dA (yup, over 3GB of dA art), taken months to download...all gone :( Have to start all over again...

For most people, one Birthday party is enough, and parties don't happen much when ur over 20...not an opinion I share >:-) My Birthday week started last Saturday when I went clubbing with some friends at Truth.. 3 dance floors, one with amazing hard trance music! Went crazy, and even bumped into a colleague from work.. We spent Sunday morning at work arguing over who was more hung-over.
Sunday night we were at a pool bar, when they decided to close earlier and leave us all on the outside tables to finish our drinks.. now that's just rude, so I decided to compensate by reversing my car up to the entrance, opening my boot and blasting my sound system full volume (as some of you have seen, I have somewhat of a hectic sound system). We partied outside the closed club with my car jamming the music for the next 2 hours =P
Monday went to a friend's place, drank there for a while, then landed up at the local pool bar till the (very) early hours of the morning... Tuesday I figured I was turning 23 at midnight, so of course I was there with a large group of friends drinking flaming lamborghinis! Tonight (Wed 28th) it's my real Birthday...going to a Brazilian party restaurant with about 20 of my better friends. Thursday it's pool league, which sees us parting afterwards as per usual, either celebrating our win for the night or drowning our sorrows after a loss (usually the former ;) ).. either way, always turns out to become a really late night (like 3am a lot of the time).
Friday...it's the big piss-up! The bar owner made me laminated invitations for my Bday party happening there, which is gonna be hectic... everyone vows to put me in a coma with Birthday shooters, so of course Saturday will see me in bed until I have to get up for another night of events =P It's the poker evening, where we chill with booze the whole night playing texas holdem for money. Sunday it's rock climbing, followed by our regular visit to that other pool bar that closed early the Sunday prior =P Yeah, I'm a loud & proud party animal, what can I say? =P Oh yeah, looking forward to pressies... when most people asked what I wanted, my response was simply "anything wolf-ish" :) Current Mood: hyper

|Joys and rants...
Things have been busy lately, and going very well for me, hence the little time I’ve spent interacting online ;)
Got a new toy to play with.. a Nokia 9210 :) Fun toy, definitely more of a business toy (I like the keyboard), though lacking a few features my sony ericsson P800 has (MP3, camera, etc.).. I need a bit of time to see which phone I prefer... and ANOTHER new toy - a Sony home theatre DVD recorder with 160GB HDD :D Pause live TV and record without spending ages looking for a damn spare cassette/disc. Gotta love insurance ;)
Whoops…I seem to be getting a reputation for getting ppl drunk on their Birthdays…last person sent me this at 8PM the next day:
“I just woke up thanx to ur alcoholic beverages. Anyway i am still in bed. I am broken and sore.i no now how u felt. Anyway.i am awake but only have 2 free mms left.”
Nasty me... *evil laugh*
My collection of dA deviations from all my favourite artists has grown to 1GB - YAY! That's just over 13,000 deviations.. so an average filesize of 72KB means the whole of dA must be over 1,5TB (1,500GB), and I have a whopping 0.06% of it =P
There was this whole thing going on about the new Survivor to be held in South Africa. Great! Or is it?? Not so much for us, anyway... after asking a couple of questions, it turns out they will not accept any applicants from South Africa, as we “know the bush too well”. OMFG ignorant morons! They obviously don’t know the first thing about SA. I find it amusing how foreigners assume we live in mud huts and don’t know what the internet is. We have often been #1
in the world in various technological aspects ranging from banking to IT (despite problems we have in some areas). Problem is they never publicize those aspects of SA. I will never forget when “The Amazing Race” was coming to Johannesburg, South Africa. Yay, they will actually get a glimpse of what it’s really like (or will they?)…where do they have it? In the oldest and most run-down notorious township we have, on the southern outskirts of Joburg. Greeeeat…
Just an interesting fact I worked out today.. if I call from my cell phone to certain countries (Egypt for example) during the day, the call will cost me up to R28.80 per minute. That's over US$4 per minute for a phone call. It's disgusting! Current Mood: good

I got what's basically a new computer! Awesome acrylic case (looks like thick glass) - http://www.beantech.com/products/acrylic-bt84.htm
and the new socket 775 system w/ pci express gfx. This means..yes, I can finally play Oblivion!! YAY!!! I just gotta control myself from spending the whole night playing it though.. that's the tough part!
Had a 6/6/6 part last Tues at my local pool bar..awesome time! Everything was on special, so I went wild =P Won some new prices too...to add to my ever-growing collection of black label merchandise (bags, clothing, keyrings, pool cue & case, etc.), I now have one of those torches that doesn't need batteries (you shake it) - black label branded of course :)
Local cinema has hit rock bottom prices...R6 any movie on tues (or R8 other days). that's less than US $1 to go to the theatre. Speaking about movies, I've been asked to do some sort of promotion for HP this weekend focused around the movie over the hedge...should be interesting, and I suspect there will be a whole lot of branded give-away merchandise envolved...I love freebies :D
*letting off steam*
Our country is ****** up. I submitted an application to reserve the name "WebHostAfrica" to use for web hosting purposes (to start a close corporation) and they denied it on account that the name is too similar to "Virtual E Webhosting", "Key Web Hosting" and "Mirrored Web Hosting". WTF are they smoking!? Now I'm pissed off...I already own .com, .org and the local domains for it and had all my plans set out >:-(
* Killer Special Offer!!
***.org domain offer running until 30 June!!!***
--Initial 1 year registration of .org domains $0.95 each!!!

*This journal is almost the same as my deviantART journal - so if you've read that, don't bother reading this ;)
Reading: PHP and MySQL Web Development
Watching: A sound of thunder (turning out kinda disappointing)
If you get a chance, check out http://jingle.dovi.za.net - just make sure you have your sound switched on ;)
My name...TauXero... how do you feel about it? Sure, it's completely unique and still has meaning, but do you find it easy to remember? Does it remind you of anything negative or give a false impression about me as to my nature or nationality?
I finished Morrowind Bloodmoon - very awesome...I have to say the ending was rather sudden and unexpected...but I really enjoyed playing as a werewolf :D In general I really enjoyed playing it! I finished Mournhold (Tribunal expansion) months ago; that was also enjoyable.
I should be (hopefully) getting Oblivion this week! Now just gotta pray it'll run on my computer well enough to be worth playing (*barely meets requirements*).
* Special offer!
I still have the domain offer open to anyone who reads this:

|Finally started up here...
Got tired of so many people asking if I had an LJ. Maybe this'll turn out a waste of time, but I'll update here now and then for anyone that cares.
L8ly I've been too busy for any personal stuff, so I'm a bit behind in emails & updating my websites, though I've got a lot of work done otherwise, and plans for my art site are taking shape - so far it looks good to be released by the end of the year. For those who don't know, I'm refering to a website I'm starting that is rather similar to deviantart.com, but with a few major differences.
I've also restarted my web hosting business, so if ur interested in web hosting for a website of yours (asp, components, phpbb, php, unlimited emails, award-winning control panel, etc.) lemme know - my prices are extremely competitive (starting at around $3/mo for quite an extensive package). Soon I'll be selling domains aswell, probably at around the $9/yr mark. I'll post again when my official website for that is back online. Otherwise u can check most of what I've been up to lately on http://tauxero.deviantart.com Current Mood: stressed
